The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Before I try to read this story the title "The Yellow Wallpaper" I immediately thought of a yellow wallpaper. Turns out the title is relative to the story. I enjoy reading this because of the society during that time period of a women role. The narrator's husband is a doctor and the wife is ill as everyone should know. Her husband is constantly telling his wife like a parent will do to their children. It seems like it was that type of relationship that they have. Also, during this period women didn't really have a say in anything, couldn't vote and etc. Women had to listen to their  husband in most relationships. Now that is said, the narrator is obsessed over the yellow wallpaper that allowed her mind to believe that the wallpaper is moving. The wallpaper indicates being trapped within themselves or in the society.  I recommend everyone to read this story because it displays a story of an ill woman not being free, as everyone should have freedom.
